Background 

Organized in 2022, North Central Washington Equity Alliance (NCWEA) came out of a region-wide community collaborative listening and learning process that brought together businesses, governments, non-profit organizations and individuals in response to the turmoil and challenges of 2020.

 

Essential Responsibilities 

The NCWEA Executive Director is a change-agent to drive equity and inclusion conversations and action throughout the region. The executive director will be visionary and practical in harnessing the power of diversity to make North Central Washington one of the most robust and vibrant hubs in the country. They will collaborate closely with the NCWEA Board of Directors to develop strategies and implement plans that align with the organization’s mission and values. Specifically –

● Organizing NCWEA resources to build a sustainable future for diversity and equity to thrive and be celebrated throughout the region

● Identifying opportunities for expanding the current network of partners committed to the goal of building a vibrant community through equity and inclusion

● Providing leadership to the dedicated volunteers and board members in building actionable strategic plans that produce results

● Investing time and expertise to position NCWEA as an equity partner in regional economic and social decision-making

● Evaluating, assessing and delivering the resources needed to achieve annual and multi-year planning goals

● Ensuring sound financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and risk management, to maintain the organization's financial health and accountability

- Outreach, partnerships and relationship building

- Staff plans and budgets

- Resource and funding plans

- Long range planning strategies

- Board recruitment and maintenance

- Marketing and communication plans with benchmarks and

results/measurement reports

- Serve as primary spokesperson for NCWEA


Skills & Experience

A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; 

Proven motivation and desire to achieve organizational goals through self-directed, outcome-based strategies; 

Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or related fields and 1-3 years of related non-profit management experience – either paid or as a board member/volunteer; OR five years of related, successful management experience, particularly in the private, non-profit world; Demonstrated ability to manage finances, produce budgets, develop sustainable funding resources and provide required reporting; 

Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead staff and board members with curiosity, humility, and openness to listen and learn – excellent people skills; 

Skilled in nonprofit management, including operations, budgeting, grant writing and financial oversight;

Commitment to advancing equity and inclusion within an organization and its programs;

Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time position with work-life balance flexibility. A salary range of $72,000-77,000 depending on experience. The benefit package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, with an opportunity for discussing a 401(k) match after the six-months probationary period.

Employees earn up to 30 days of paid time off annually, generous paid sick leave, and paid family medical leave. 

Recognizing that our employees are best when they can take time to recharge, educate, and improve themselves, all full-time or regular parttime employees are eligible for a paid 2-month sabbatical leave after each seven consecutive years of employment.

Located in Wenatchee, Washington, a vibrant, rural community nestled between the Cascade Mountains and the steppe plateau of Central Washington, offering a breathtaking natural beauty and endless outdoor recreation opportunities. The region has a thriving arts and culture scene, excellent schools, and a strong sense of community. The quality of life aspects of the region provide a great source of personal energy and personal well-being. The executive director is expected to reside in the greater Chelan-Couglas County area. They will engage in frequent key stakeholder meetings; lead and participate in events; host meetings with board and community partners; regular travel to locations throughout the region' and participate in speaking engagements. A willingness to work some evening and weekends is required.
